Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role sits within the shared service function within the business. The role requires focus on the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions through the company’s accounting system, bank and account reconciliations, PAYE, along with production and interpretation of month end project costing reports. There will also be some administrative tasks to be undertaken as part of the shared service function within a growing organisation.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Accurate processing of purchase invoices onto the Sage accounting software
Preparation of creditor payment runs
Project costing of timesheet, travel and other expenditure
Production of sales invoices and management of cash collection process
Interfacing with PAYE provider to ensure accurate payroll information
Month end bank reconciliation
Production and interpretation of project costing reports
Analysis of financial performance
Supplier and customer account reconciliations.
Compliance with delegations of authority
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
We are seeking a self-starter who is an excellent communicator, capable of interacting confidently with colleagues, clients, suppliers and professional personnel at all levels. The individual must be adaptable and always aiming to learn new skills, whilst being able to operate with minimal supervision. Attention to detail and process is important and able to work flexibly in order to meet the company’s financial calendar.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
Experience of working in an SME environment in a finance role similar to the role on offer.
Experienced and knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications and Sage accounting software.
You must have a strong command of written and oral English and have experience of compiling reports that are articulate and well structured.
Part qualified accountant – i.e. studying for a recognised financial qualification e.g. AAT, CIMA
Desired:
Experience in either the Technology or Facilities Maintenance market would be advantageous but not essential.
Location and Remuneration
Based at our office near Bristol, the remuneration for the role is expected to be £22,000-£26,000 depending on relevant experience and qualification.
