REAMS uses drones to aid community in Warwickshire
REAMS and Warwickshire County Council works together to reduce the impact of flooding for Lower Brailes
REAMS has been appointed by Warwickshire County Council in support of their bid to secure funding to reinforce flood defences in the community of Lower Brailes. REAMS deployed their UAV drone technology to survey the area and take high definition imagery.
The area has seen a number of devastating flood incidents in the past and securing the funding to improve the flood defences will provide much needed relief to the community.
REAMS’ Field Technology Specialists conducted a UAV survey over the town collecting a number of images. These images were hosted in their Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with peripheral and landscape data edited to give a Digital Terrain Model (DTM), this detailed model is provided to the client to complete the flood mapping profile.
The data will be used to simulate a flood, allowing the Council to highlight any weak points and plan improvement work if necessary. It can also be used for emergency planning to show which houses may be affected and help the local community feel safe.
